60″ Aero L39 Albatros PSS Short Kit

L39 Albatros Fiberglass Short kit includes:

• Fiberglass Accurate Scale Fuse made from CNC Molds (Fuse modified from Scale to become a PSS Glider)
  • 1pc wet layup fiberglass fuse with wing area reinforcements.
  • Fin molded with fuse.
  • Removable wing with access to fuse internals under the wing.
• 60″ Foam Core Wing Set from 25PSI XPS Foam including wing Beds
  • Airfoil HD46
  • Designed for 1/16″ Balsa Skins, Hardwood/Basswood LE, and Basswood TE with balsa triangle stock trailing edges and control surfaces.
• Templates included for Stab
• This kit was born from a Midwest Slope Challenge Group Project in 2021 – 2023.  Many thanks to the original build group for the inspiration to get this project rolling.

PSS short kits are designed for intermediate builders and flyers.  There’s a pile of information online about how to build this style of glider.  We recommend doing some research before starting a project of this scope.

What you will need in addition to the Short Kit:

• 1/16″ Balsa sheets for wing skins
• 1/2 – 3/4″ square Basswood or other Hardwood LE stock.
• 3/8″x1/4″ TE Basswood stock
• Fiberglass cloth and Epoxy for joining wing halves
• Plywood for wing mounts and wing Bolt hardware
• Paintable shrink covering for Wing and Stab (Solartex is our brand of Choice)
• 1 Servo for Elevator to be mounted in Fuse
• 2 Servos for Aileron to be mounted in Wing (Thin Wing Style servos will work well)
• RX Battery
• Paint

Short Kits are built to order.  Process takes up to 10days from day of order before kit is ready to ship.  Contact Canuck Engineering for special instructions if you want a specific fuse layup etc.
